In 2017, we experienced conflict during a process for which we had no tools to help us. Thankfully, we were able to find a way forward through determination and maybe a shared commitment to finishing. However, the encounter exposed a weakness in our methods: what to do when things aren’t working. In order to help create some change, we called in some help and did what we do best: make something out of the feeling.
The following Conflict Resolution Playbook was developed with the help of a former collaborator and friend Jacob Zimmer (Nakai Theatre / Small Wooden Shoe). The intention is to provided some agreed upon ways to deal with conflict before it escalates. It is now part of every collaborator contract we make.
We offer it for your consideration.
